500 Pupils Benefit From LiRA Foundation ‘Back To School Initiative’

No fewer than 500 pupils have benefited from the LiRA Foundation Back To School 2.0 in Bariga LCDA and Shomolu in extension.

This laudable initiative which took place on Saturday, 11th of September, 2021 was geared towards assisting the children by giving the most needed school materials ahead of their resumption to school.

Some of the materials given out include school bags, sandals, water bottles, exercise books, and writing materials.

Quiz & Spelling Bee Competition also took place after which, winners were given prizes.

The Back to School program 2.0 was themed: “A Heart To The Less Privileged And Action Against Child Molestation “

In her opening remarks, Founder and Executive Director of LiRA Foundation, Comrade Ruth Lijirin
thanked God for making the initiative come to fruition.

Comrade Lijirin said “LiRA Foundation as a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) whose major goal centralize on grooming, impacting and extending show of care and support to the youth, most especially the less privileged, considered it a necessity to build on its previous feat by reaching out to today’s beneficiaries who are in the category mentioned above through our best intellect team of problem solvers, whose zeal and capabilities are second to none.”

“I’m using this medium to thank every member of this team, now and from
inception, for their unfaltering efforts, discharged toward making the planning
and executing of this programme realizable, I owe you all undaunted and sincere gratitude.”

“The responsibilities of every person dwelling in our society today is to ensure
progression and normalcy of requisite indoor and outdoor activities as an
avenue to contribute their portion of goodness and to annul all forms of
misconduct and unfavorable situations which can erect more harm than
expected.”

“To that end, I’m equally appreciating all the dignitaries across the three
senatorial districts in Lagos who honoured our invitation to mark their present respectively, May GOD continue to bless you and your family Amen.”

“Lastly, the intent of putting smiles on the children’s faces can’t be achieved if peradventure they didn’t find their way here today alongside their guardians, I
acknowledge your presence as well. Thank you everyone for coming. At LiRA Foundation, we are committed to always render our utmost best.”

The ALGON President and Bariga LCDA Chairman, Hon. Kolade Alabi David who was represented by the Secretary to the Local Government, Bariga LCDA, Hon. Bukola Adedeji a.k.a Iyaniwura reiterated the need to groom today’s youths, for they are indeed our hope for tomorrow.

Through the representative, he also extended his warm greetings to the beneficiaries, their parents, dignitaries, while also thanking especially, the Foundation for taking a substantial role in Nation building.

Hon. Segun Olulade popularly known as Eleniyan commend the Executive Director and her team for a job well done

Eleniyan admonished the Children to be a good ward, face their studies by ensuring they read their books at all times because education is the best legacy.

The former Lawmaker at the Lagos State House of Assembly advise the children “President Buhari, Governor Sanwo-Olu, Otedola, Dangote also started as a child by ensuring they face their studies without been distracted”.

Expressing hope and optimism on the life of the pupils, Hon. Olulade said “I see the future Buhari, Sanwo-Olu, Tinubu, Dangote, Otedola, Folorunsho Alakija here, don’t let anything distract you from your academics the Lord will continue to be with you”

He said “I never expected it will be this big, with the large numbers of Children on sit and the School materials that will be given to them, Kudos to LiRA foundation once again, on this note Eleniyan Foundation will partner with LiRA Foundation next edition to get across to more large numbers of pupils in Bariga” Hon. Segun Olulade added

Prince Ladega in his own remarks said: “distinguished ladies and gentlemen, permit me to stand on the existing protocol but it’s pertinent to recognised our amiable vibrant youth, the founder LIRA foundation, miss Ruth Lijirin.”

“The essence of today’s gathering is to look inward and separate the basis for further arguments that might emanate from different schools of thought. However, no matter your stand, no matter your argument, no sane mind will come out to support a rapist, child molesters, and perpetrators of violence against mankind generally.”

“Child molestation is a criminal offense under section 21 of our criminal act, the law allows 12 years term for guilty offenders of the said law, several factors are responsible for the increase in child molestation”, she added.
